People are looking for a solution, and it’s a blessing in order to introduce them to whatever you have that can solve their problem. In those situations, sales don’t feel like sales.
You need to flip your mindset. Instead of thinking about the products and services you are selling, you need to think about what the customer needs.

So what’s the secret to being successful in sales? Is it being passionate about whatever it is you’re “selling”? Is it loving what you do? No.
You need to like the product or service you’re selling. You need to believe in it or that’s where it starts to feel slimy. That’s where you can get outside of your ethics and values if you’re persuading someone to purchase something that we, ourselves, don’t believe in.
But what do you really need to be successful in sales?
“You need to be passionate about the problem that you’re solving.”
THE BIG PICTURE
Sales aren’t easy and sometimes they’re personal. In my experience as a skincare rep, I specialized in acne treatments because of my own struggles. Now, I’m grateful for the struggles because they led me to things I’ve become passionate about.
Being vulnerable about your own hardships will open up conversations with other people to share what they’re going through. And in those moments you have the opportunity to share your solution to their problem in a meaningful way.
